Kamakshi Pal, Mountaineer and Trek Leader

“It was never about the numbers. It was about a deeper personal journey that reshaped my understanding of endurance, stillness, and self-trust.”
Kamakshi Pal is a mountaineer and trek leader with over a decade in the Himalayas. Trained at the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM), she has spent years moving through high-altitude landscapes, often solo, learning not just to navigate the mountains but to truly listen to them.
In 2023 she completed 35 treks in under 35 weeks. She has soloed Kanamo Peak (5,980 m) in 12 hours, summited Mera Peak (6,476 m), and reached Everest Base Camp. Today she curates thoughtful, small-group journeys across Manali, Jibhi and Ladakh, and leads Women Who Hike, a community of 320+ women exploring the outdoors safely and confidently.
A safe, supportive space for women to explore the Himalayas with confidence. Founded by Kamakshi, curated by ADV TRIBE. All bookings and enquiries handled by ADV TRIBE.
Each itinerary is capped to a small, intentional group. Pace is set by presence, not peak bagging.

A 3-day hiking retreat in Manali and Jibhi, designed for parents and children to unplug, reconnect, and build real life skills in nature.
Skill Course
Learn to hike without a guide. Four days of weather reading, navigation, backpacking, fitness and nutrition. Ends with a solo field exam and certificate.
Challenging
Five days crossing from Kullu’s green valleys into the stark lunar terrain of Lahaul and Spiti. A 4,200m ridge, one life-altering view.
I came for the trek. I left understanding what the mountain wanted me to know about myself. Kamakshi doesn’t push you up. She walks with you.

Not just a professional hiker who gels well with kids, she has natural motherly instincts that kept the kids glued to her. Raag was almost with her throughout our stay as if he had found a second mom. He learnt skills like leadership, listening, following, and sharing.
Sugandha Raag’s MotherI would like to thank you for organising my child’s first ever trek, and firsts are always special. The way you took care of him while trekking was such a relief. Hoping to do more such treks in future.
