When Kashmir turns gold
A 5-day, 4-night group tour of the Kashmir valley in autumn, ex-Srinagar, operated by 3 Miles Ahead, covering Srinagar, Pahalgam, Daksum, Dachigam National Park and Pampore.
The route runs south from Srinagar through Verinag, Achabal and Kokernag to Pahalgam, out to Aru and Betaab Valley, on to Daksum, then back north for Dachigam National Park and Pampore.

Which departure batch will I be on?

What kind of accommodation is provided?
Four nights in comfortable 3-star hotels and traditional Kashmiri houseboats, selected for cleanliness, comfort and location. Stays are primarily on a double-sharing basis, and the houseboat is double sharing too, with interiors and amenities comparable to a 3-star hotel. Single occupancy can be arranged on request at an additional cost, subject to availability. Breakfast and dinner are included on all days. Lunch and personal expenses are not.
How do I get to Srinagar for the departure?
The trip starts and ends in Srinagar. Flight tickets are not included, but airport pickup and drop are, as per the planned itinerary and recommended flight timings. To keep transfers smooth, arrive before 3 PM on day 1 and book your return for after 6 PM on day 5, preferably a late evening flight. Additional transfers outside those windows can be arranged on request and are chargeable separately.
Who is this trip best suited for?
Travellers looking for a relaxed, scenic trip through Kashmir in one of its most beautiful seasons. The group departure is designed for the 20 to 55 age bracket, keeping the pace and overall group experience in mind. No special level of fitness is required, and most sightseeing points involve only 5 to 10 minutes of walking, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Solo travellers, couples and groups of friends are all welcome. For families or senior travellers, 3 Miles Ahead recommend a customised itinerary instead.
Is a Shikara ride included?
No. A Shikara ride is optional and chargeable separately, and can be arranged locally. The traditional Kashmiri music experience is included for both batches and is arranged at the houseboat. The Dachigam National Park entry ticket is not included and is payable separately, as are entry tickets to certain other attractions. Local vehicle charges for Aru Valley and Betaab Valley are included.
Do I need permits, and which ID should I carry?
No permits are needed for the locations covered in this itinerary. Carry a valid original government photo ID such as an Aadhaar card, driving licence or voter ID for hotel check-ins, and keep a digital copy as a backup. Passport-size photographs are not required, though carrying a few recent ones is still recommended.
Which mobile network works best in Kashmir?
Jio and Airtel postpaid connections generally give reliable coverage across Kashmir. Prepaid SIM cards issued outside Jammu and Kashmir may not work in the region, so travellers without a postpaid connection can obtain a local SIM after arrival. Most places on this itinerary have good coverage, with occasional weak patches as in any mountain destination. UPI is widely accepted in towns and ATMs are available at major locations, but carry some cash as a backup.
