The KTM 390 Adventure runs a liquid-cooled engine. The radiator is exposed to the front of the bike and on any gravel or stone section, whether that is the Spiti circuit, a Sahyadri forest trail, or a loose-stone section on the Manali-Leh, it is in the direct path of debris thrown up by your front tyre. A stone puncture to the radiator is an expensive trailside breakdown. Will the guard cause the engine to overheat?
No. The mesh design maintains adequate airflow to the radiator. The guard intercepts stone and debris while allowing the cooling air through.

Is a radiator guard worth fitting if I mostly ride on tarmac?
On pure tarmac touring, the risk is lower. However, most KTM 390 Adventure riders mix sealed roads with gravel sections, mountain passes with loose stone, or forest trail sections. If your routes include any off-tarmac sections, the guard is worth fitting.
